Services for Alumni

Pepperdine alumni are welcome to visit the Pepperdine University Libraries and may register for borrowing privileges at University Libraries circulation desks by presenting an alumni card with a picture ID card. Alumni may access select library databases and resource guides, search the online library catalog, and utilize our new Alumni Ask an Expert service in the library or at home through the Pepperdine University Libraries website.  Pepperdine alumni may search all of the library databases when they visit any of the Pepperdine Libraries after showing presenting a valid alumni card and a picture ID. Unfortunately, at this time, group study rooms are not available to alumni.


Alumni Authors

The University Libraries actively purchases books authored by alumni. All interested alumni authors who want the Libraries to purchase a copy of their book are encouraged to contact , Associate University Librarian for Information Resources, Collections and Scholarly Communication.


Database Access for Alumni

Pepperdine alumni may search select library databases from off-campus.  Simply click on the Databases link below and you will be directed to the JSTOR and Factiva databases.  If you need assistance with database searching, click on the Ask an Expert link below.

Pepperdine alumni may search most of the library databases when they visit any of the Pepperdine Libraries after showing a Reference Librarian a valid alumni card and a picture ID.


Library Borrowing Privileges for Alumni

Pepperdine alumni may borrow up to five books at any one time for a two week period. Books are renewable for an additional two weeks. For full information about obtaining a library card and library borrowing policies, click here.


The InfoGuides gather lists of resources (limited to library use only as well as websites with links) on a wide range of topics.

The Government Information Center provides links to a number of government websites that provide various types of data ranging from government reports to statistics in different formats.

Public Libraries

Many public libraries offer a variety of databases, free of charge for library card holders. Users must apply for library cards in-person. Some databases are accessible over the web and some are accessible in libraries.

Some public libraries may impose residential restrictions on the issuance of a library card.
