New: Database Access for Alumni
Pepperdine University Library and Pepperdine Alumni Association
Now Offer Alumni Access to Library Databases
Seeking to provide alumni valuable services long after graduation, the Pepperdine University Library and the Alumni Association have teamed up to offer free access to comprehensive library online databases and to the library’s, “Ask a Librarian” service, educational materials, and resources. Previously, such access was restricted to students and faculty on campus. With the “Ask a Librarian” service, alumni will also be able to have their reference questions answered by a professional librarian via email or instant messaging.
Pepperdine alumni worldwide will now have access to:
- The ProQuest Research Library, which contains more than 2,600 general interest and academic journals.
- The ABI-INFORM, a database of over 3,000 management and business journals.
- FACTIVA, which includes AP wire news, the Wall Street Journal and over 9,000 other newspapers, magazines and sources from more than 118 countries around the world.
According to Dean of Libraries Mark Roosa, “Staying abreast of trends in the marketplace is absolutely critical. We are delighted to have the opportunity to extend these online resources to our alumni and hope they will find them useful.”
To access library databases, Pepperdine alumni should go to http://library.pepperdine.edu/alumni/index.html#access
To use the library’s Ask a Librarian service, alumni should also visit http://library.pepperdine.edu/alumni/ask/index.html
