Pepperdine West LA Campus Library Reopened
The renovated Pepperdine WLA Campus library and computing facility officially reopened for business on Monday, July 28. Featuring expanded and improved seating areas, newly added study rooms and an enhanced light flow, the library and computing facility services are now seamlessly available throughout the space.
The South Wing, which has been designated a principally active collaborative area for students, furthermore now offers two group study rooms as well as a brand new videoconferencing room. Meanwhile, the North Wing invites students and faculty to enjoy areas reserved for quieter study space. Here, patrons will find ample private seating, traditional study tables, newly introduced computer workstation clusters as well as the three group study rooms they always found essential.

Pepperdine Drescher Campus Library Featured on ALA Choice Magazine Cover
The Pepperdine Drescher Graduate Campus Library is featured on the cover of this month’s issue of the American Library Association’s Choice Magazine! The Pepperdine Libraries celebrate this opportunity to increase visibility within the greater library community. The publication will also offer additional proprietary exposure for Pepperdine when the publication is distributed at the the American Library Association’s annual conference being held in Anaheim later this month.

California Rare Book School Summer Courses
Looking to learn more about rare books and manuscripts this summer? In August 2008 the California Rare Book School (CALRBS) is offering 8 week long courses covering a broad range of topics. CALRBS students receive 40 hours of instruction over 5 days; the equivalent of an entire academic quarter in just one week. Our courses are taught by expert faculty and take full advantage of the unique collections of rare books, manuscripts and archival materials housed in greater Los Angeles.

New Databases: SimplyMap and eMarketer
Pepperdine University Libraries has acquired two new electronic databases:
SimplyMap is a web-based mapping application that lets users quickly create professional-quality thematic maps and reports using demographic, business, and marketing data for the United States.
eMarketer includes daily research articles, analyst reports, and a database of e-business and online marketing statistics, aggregated and analyzed from over 2,800 sources. Topics include market research and trend analysis on Internet, e-business, online marketing, media and emerging technologies.

In the near future, additional wikis will be added to cover other subject areas.

New: Library Catalog Video Annotations
Pepperdine University Libraries now offers library catalog annotations for video titles. The new paragraph-length annotations represent not only popular new releases and DVDs, but also educational videos, documentaries, and how-to films. Video annotations identify cast members and directors:

One-Stop Info Search Citation Management
One-Stop Info Search, our federated search solution, now includes an enhanced citation management feature with support for popular bibliographic citation managers, including RefWorks. Specifically, the enhancement provides the following new functionality:
- Marked List - Enables the easy selection and management of citations. This new feature will keep a running tally of records selected at the top of the page - and allows the user to move through the result set. In addition, the export process has been modified. Users will now see check boxes next to the citations, allowing them to select records for export while viewing the results list:

- Export/Save - Includes several options: 1-click Export to RefWorks; export in format compatible with ProCite and EndNote; save as HTML; or save as Plain Text:

- Email - Provides ability to email citations in a variety of useful formats, from a form within the One-Stop Info Search interface:
