Library Hack – Hanging Indents for Works Cited/Bibliographies

Are you writing a research paper and have gotten stuck formatting the Works Cited/Bibliography? Whether you are using MLA, APA, or Chicago, each style requires that the lines for each citation after the first line be indented – these are called “hanging indents.” Rather than trying to manually manipulate the citations using tabs, spaces, etc., there is an easier and better way to create these hanging indents.
Here are some simple instructions for creating hanging indents in both Windows 2010 (PC) and Windows 2011 (Mac).
