Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is available to authorized faculty, staff and students of Pepperdine University only. The Pepperdine Interlibrary Loan service is not available to alumni, Friends of the Library, Crest Club members, or the general public. All other patrons should use the Interlibrary Loan services at their local public libraries. Pepperdine University Law School students, faculty and staff should submit their Interlibrary Loan requests to the Law School Library.

How Long Can I Keep Loans?

The lending library determines the loan period, which may range from two to four weeks. Materials may not be borrowed for class reserve, exhibit, or other long-term use. It is important to return materials on the due date, since overdue materials may jeopardize our ability to borrow.

How Long Does It Take?

Allow at least two weeks from the date of the request. Remember to plan ahead when requesting materials.

What Can I Borrow?

Books, book chapters, dissertations, journal articles, and some microform can usually be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan. However, many libraries will not lend books that are less than six months old.

Materials generally not available through Interlibrary Loan include: rare, fragile or unique materials; whole volumes of recent periodicals; manuscripts; reference books; and audiovisual materials.

How Much Does it Cost?

There are usually no fees for borrowing item on Interlibrary Loan.  The only exception to is Dissertation Express.  If there is a fee, the patron will be notified before the book is ordered.

Is Interlibrary Loan available to International Programs’ students and faculty?
