Saint John's Bible
The Saint John's Bible is a monumental effort undertaken by Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, to hand-write and hand-illuminate the entire Bible. The result is a 21st-century Bible that uses a combination of medieval manuscript techniques and modern technologies and themes. Pepperdine University Libraries are acquiring a Heritage Edition of the Saint John's Bible for the university in its 75th year, with the goal of integrating the Bible into the academic and spiritual life of our community.
The libraries are bringing the Saint John's Bible to the Pepperdine community and beyond through the following ways:
- Public lectures about the art and theology of the Saint John's Bible
- Class sessions that explore the Bible from various academic perspectives
- Exhibit displays
- Presentations to groups of local church and ministry groups
- Readings in university chapel services
