Payson Library selectively collects materials published by the U.S. Government, including those published by numerous departments and agencies, covering a myriad of subjects. Although many government documents are cataloged and fully integrated into the regular book collection, some are arranged using the Superintendent of Documents Classification System (SuDoc). SuDoc numbers are easily recognizable because they contain colons and slashes as part of the call number (i.e., Y 4.F76/1-15:).
