Pepperdine University Libraries hosts Holocaust survivors Bernd and Judy Simon, who recount their journey of tragedy, survival, and love. Bernd, 91, and Judy, 88, met in post-war Munich and married in 1948. They recall their traumatic experiences in the Dachau and Auschwitz concentration camps respectively, emphasizing their hope that future inhumanities can be prevented through education. To this end, Bernd and Judy Simon are intimately involved with the Simon Hero Foundation, which develops and distributes an advanced, highly customized 3D “social education platform” for use in museums, schools, and universities worldwide. They spoke in Pepperdine University’s Payson Library on April 8, 2013 in an event organized by the Simon Hero Foundation and the Jewish Students Association.
