National Hispanic Heritage Month 2022
National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans. This year, we asked CSU Channel Islands professor José M. Alamillo to hand-pick a selection of books to recognize this celebratory month, which takes place every year from September 15 through October 15. Many of the resources in this list can be viewed in ebook format, and patrons can also review them in person by visiting the display at Payson Library.
On Thursday, October 13, 3 – 4 PM, Dr. Alamillo will give a talk in the Surfboard Room. The books on display were referenced in the creation of his recent publication, Deportes: The Making of a Sporting Mexican Diaspora, which is the subject of his talk.
