Internship Opportunities
Special Collections interns at Pepperdine have the unique opportunity to work hands-on with original, historical materials and complete professional-level projects that correlates with their academic interests and career goals. Internships are offered to Pepperdine students in any major and to graduate students in library and information science from any institution. Others interested in the internship program should consult us as we can often accommodate various circumstances. Course credit is offered.
Internships are ideally suited to anyone pursuing a career in library or information science, archival studies, museum studies, digital humanities, history, English, religion, art history, and related fields. Projects will be customized based on current departmental needs and conversations with the intern and may include activities such as processing an archival collection, creating collection guides, or performing preservation tasks. Special collections staff will provide training and guidance throughout the project and offer professional support to students as they move into their careers. Interns will have the opportunity to work in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art special collections facility.
To apply for an internship, please email us with a resume, paragraph stating your goals of an internship, and your desired semester or term. We will follow up to schedule an in-person meeting.
