Online Research in Special Collections

Pepperdine's (physical) Special Collections Research Room may be closed, but we are always open virtually! There are several ways you can conduct online Special Collections research, which we've outlined in a new InfoGuide.

Here are some of our recommendations:

• Search our Digital Collections. Pepperdine's digital collections include thousands of scans of our most-requested photographs, documents, publications, and other objects from our Special Collections and Archives. These collections are free and open to the public!
• Use Personalized Services. Please feel free to send us your questions via email, or we are also happy to set up a virtual meeting to discuss your research. We make it our job to know our collections, and chances are, we can answer your question even without being onsite.
• Request Remote Instruction. If you are a faculty member who would like to expose your class to Special Collections or set up an assignment using our digitized materials, please let us know! We are ready to provide remote instruction during this period of campus closure.
• Find Materials in our Archival Finding Aids and Library Catalog. These are packed with information about our collections. If you can't find the information you need virtually, use our finding aids to plan your research visit when we re-open. (But also, see #2! We might be able to find what you need!)
• Enjoy Highlights from our Collections. Follow this blog and our social media channels to see images of our materials. We will be sharing some of our favorites over the coming weeks!
