Celebrating the Semiquincentennial

Pepperdine Libraries is proud to preserve a collection of Colonial-era documents. The materials were made available by Pepperdine alumnus and attorney Michael J. Marlatt. They span from 1715 to 1781 and represent the cultural, philosophical, and political atmosphere leading up to and during the Revolutionary War. Already, anyone doing research from anywhere in the world can view the digital collection. And now, in celebration of the nation's semiquincentennial, we're pleased to showcase a selection of the physical documents in Payson's Special Collections wing. The exhibition helps contextualize America's process of becoming an independent nation. Don't miss your chance to see these rare documents in person.
