MALIBU, California – Pepperdine Libraries has appointed Lucy Perrin as the director and archivist for the Rushford Center and the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection, effective August 1, 2022. Dr. Jerry Rushford, who has served as the founding director since 2009, will move into the role of curator effective August 1, 2022.

The Pepperdine Libraries’ Rushford Center for Research on Churches of Christ and the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement is an umbrella for several scholarly programs, services, and resources, including the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection, the William M. Perrin brings extensive relevant experience to this position. She most recently worked as a project archivist in the library’s Special Collections and University Archives, helping to preserve the cultural and spiritual heritage of Pepperdine University and the Churches of Christ through the processing of archival collections. Perrin is an honors graduate of the University of North Texas with a master of science in library science, emphasizing archival management and youth librarianship. She is also a graduate of Lubbock Christian University.

“We’re delighted to welcome Lucy Perrin to this important position to help us continue to share the story of the Churches of Christ with our students and with the broader public. We especially look forward to the leadership she will provide in continuing to organize, describe, and make available the extensive resources in the Heritage Collection to support teaching, learning and research,” said Dr. Mark Roosa, Pepperdine’s dean of libraries.

Previously, Perrin worked for five years as the assistant director of the Boone Center for the Family at Pepperdine University. Perrin, an active member of the University Church of Christ, has spoken frequently at university events and the annual Pepperdine Bible Lectures.
