Chamber Music Performance Delights Audience at Payson Library

Students were treated to an exceptional evening of music on Monday, April 6, as the
Libraries hosted a concert by Laós Chamber Music, a Los Angeles-based ensemble of
distinguished classical musicians. The program featured compelling performances of
Sergei Rachmaninoff's Cello and Piano Sonata in G Minor and Gabriel Fauré's Piano Quartet No. 1 in C Minor—works rarely heard in live performance. Dean of Libraries Mark Roosa reflected on
the evening, noting, "Our music students had the unique opportunity to see their professors
perform in a professional setting—an experience that is both memorable and invaluable."
Pepperdine faculty members Evan Antes (viola) and Barry Tan (piano) joined fellow
Laós musicians Tiffany Chung (violin) and Dustin Seo (cello) for a performance that
showcased both technical mastery and expressive depth.
