Special Collections Staff Favorites: Animals in the Archives

In the world of remote learning and Zoom meetings, there is one thing that never fails to lighten up the (digital) class or meeting: pets!

Cats and dogs (and birds and bunnies and so much more) are livening up video calls by popping their furry snouts into frame, or perhaps even laying across one's laptop. Inspired by these unsung heroes, keeping their working-from-home humans sane, we present you with some of the best pets from our digital collections.

First up is Mrs. Helen Pepperdine, her children Marilyn and George, and their cat, circa 1939. (George Pepperdine Collection).
